Cultist Simulator Developers Are Bringing New Narrative Adventure
Disco Elysium fans might want to try the demo.
If you enjoyed the mysteries of Weather Factory's Cultist Simulator, you should definitely wishlist their latest creation: Travelling At Night is a "globe-trotting choices-matter CRPG" that combines the studio's recognizable style and complex universe with gameplay that might remind you of Disco Elysium.
Developers from Weather Factory stay true to their love for supernatural talk and the world of Failbetter's Sunless Sea and Fallen London. You will recognize themes and entities from these games, and if you like them, Travelling At Night should be on your shopping list.
Set in alternate 1940s Europe, the game invites you to build your views and identity, which will affect your rolls and fate. Moving from city to city, you'll slowly understand the protagonist's past and will shape his future.
"Europe, 1948: myth-scarred ruins, night-sky abysses, and the golden Incorporates of the USA locked in a cold war against the star-touched Ministries of the USSR. Twelve years ago in the deep Cracow winter, you were hollowed out by the Worms from under the world, and so you had to go away. Now you're back, but your past is long, and it's not done with you yet."
The game has just received a demo, so if you want to explore its deep story, now's the time. It is a bit too short for my liking, but it shows the ways of the game, its mechanics, and routes pretty well.
The only fights Travelling At Night has are with yourself, so if this intrigues you, play the demo now and don't forget to subscribe to our Newsletter, join our 80 Level Talent platform and Discord, and follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, and Instagram, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
