Limited Edition Wolverine PS5 Accessories Targed By Scalpers

Wolverine's PS5 Accessories Are Already Being Scalped For Ridiculous Prices

Wolverine has been deemed a big enough PlayStation exclusive to receive its own range of PS5 accessories. Unfortunately, now that those accessories are available to pre-order in certain parts of the world, they’re already selling out, and scalpers are, at least in part, to blame.

The range of accessories, which includes Wolverine-themed covers for the PS5 and PS5 Pro along with two different DualSense designs, is already available in the UK and other parts of the world. The range is being released at 10 am local time, which means it will be available to pre-order in the US in a couple of hours.

Wolverine's PS5 Accessories Are Selling Out Fast

Based on how it has sold in the UK, you’ll want to be quick before scalpers grab everything. Both the yellow and silver covers for the Pro sold out almost immediately, along with the black and yellow DualSense. That’s why, even though pre-orders haven’t opened yet in the US, listings charging extortionate prices for the accessories have already started to pop up on resale sites.

One of the more ambitious listings I’ve spotted so far is a scalper in Japan who has listed the sold-out controller for $206.48. That’s almost two and a half times more than its MSRP. The silver controller, which is designed to look like it’s coated in adamantium, hasn’t sold out. Just buy that one instead; it looks better than the yellow version anyway.

Another Japanese scalper is trying to sell the black and yellow controller with matching Pro covers for $303.99. That is, again, a significant markup and more than twice as much as it would cost if you were to buy them directly from PlayStation. Sure, they might be sold out by the time you get there, but I’m assuming there will be at least one restock on Wolverine release day.

At Least Check Whether Something Is Sold Out Before Turning To Scalpers

The most ambitious scalpers are the ones charging almost $200 for the Wolverine covers compatible with the slim version of the PS5’s digital edition. Those covers are either more widely available or not as popular as the Pro covers since they are yet to sell out. Please, if you are going to resort to scalpers - and I beg you not to - at the very least check if the item you want is still in stock before paying almost three times as much for it.

PlayStation’s Wolverine accessories getting scalped should come as no surprise. What was once a blight that only affected new consoles and trading cards now touches everything. Pokemon has teamed up with Krispy Kreme for a range of limited edition donuts, and even those are being bought by scalpers and listed on resale sites.
