Blood for Dracula trailer title card
As a counterweight to the current ubiquity of ITC Serif Gothic and ITC Benguiat Bold Condensed, wonderfully evocative as they may be, here is a novel combination of fonts from the American theatrical trailer for Blood for Dracula, a.k.a. Andy Warhol’s Dracula.
The opening titles of Blood for Dracula (not shown here) sport gorgeous Art Deco-influenced typography, befitting of the early 20th century setting of the film (companion piece Flesh for Frankenstein likewise, though with more of an Art Nouveau bent). However, after much searching I cannot identify the font definitively – though there are many close relatives, none match perfectly. It may be lettering, as it definitely is in the case of “…Frankenstein”.
