Branding Design: Reading Rooms by Anatolie Micaliuc

Anatolie Micaliuc created the branding design for Reading Rooms. This cultural space in New York blends classic type with tactile print goods.

Reading Rooms is a curated library in New York. It brings books, quiet work, and talk together in one place. Anatolie Micaliuc led this branding design with art lead Artem Matyushkin. The visual system stays simple across all print items and room signs. Open space gives each printed item room to breathe. The team set out to pair old book arts with clean layout grids. Every spread feels quiet, clear, and easy on the eyes. Warm off-white paper sets a calm mood for daily study. Neat grid lines keep text blocks straight and tidy. The work aims for timeless style rather than quick design fads.

Branding Design for Reading Rooms

Strong type choices give the branding design its quiet mood. The visual plan pairs Only Sans with Reformat B and Stellage. Type foundry ContemporaryType drew Only Sans with clean lines. SM Typefaces built Reformat B and Stellage for editorial work. The team also chose CoFo Sans from Contrast Foundry for small data. Together, these type sets build a clear order on books and signs. A solid grid keeps side margins even on each page. Straight baselines keep book lists crisp and quick to read. Wide letter spacing helps short tags stay clear in print. Large titles grab the eye on big wall posters.

Real printed goods show how this branding design works in daily life. Library checkout cards feature ink stamps on thick paper stock. Pressed paper bookmarks give readers a tactile piece to hold. Heavy book jackets protect rare volumes on wooden display shelves. Dark metal door signs point the way into the quiet hall. The studio used Bendito Mockups to test all physical surfaces. Raw paper stocks bring back the warmth of an old public archive. This quiet craft helps visitors focus on good books and ideas. Clean cotton tote bags help people carry books home with ease. Every small touchpoint honors the long history of the written word.
