Brand Identity: The OneGate by Unikorns Agency
Unikorns Agency creates a luminous brand identity for The OneGate, using angular light gradients, Atyp Display type, and sleek fintech cards.
Designing for contemporary financial infrastructure demands a delicate balance between institutional stability and forward-looking technological clarity. For The OneGate, a cross-border payment platform providing digital banking solutions to corporate entities and private international clients, Warsaw-based studio Unikorns Agency constructed a distinctive brand identity inspired by light piercing through a gateway. Rather than relying on generic corporate gradients or sterile fintech dashboard tropes, the creative team—comprising Maria Brilkova, Sasha Miro, Dima Miro, Vlad Myhulia, Violetta Martinova, and Yeva Petukhova—formulated a sharp, angular visual system where directional illumination symbolizes transparent access and frictionless capital mobility.
Angular Light Architecture and Gradients in Brand Identity
At the foundation of the identity sits a disciplined typographic and geometric framework led by Atyp Display, designed by Tomáš Brousil at Suitcase Type Foundry. The neo-grotesque typeface features crisp, architectural incisions and sturdy vertical stems that harmonize with the brand’s directional light beams. Deep obsidian and midnight navy backgrounds act as high-contrast canvases for sharp, linear gradients: an electric cobalt blue, a radiant solar amber, and a chromatic gradient designated as Bloom. This luminous lighting logic defines a clear visual rhythm, slicing diagonally across layouts to evoke optical portals and illuminated thresholds.
The brand identity transitions effortlessly from screen to physical artifact, maintaining rigorous material craftsmanship. Physical Mastercard debit cards feature diagonal gradient wedges meeting matte black substrates, precisely calibrated to frame tactile EMV microchips and laser-engraved account credentials. This tangible standard extends to corporate stationery suites featuring blind-debossed cards, deep blue document folders, brushed stainless steel architectural exterior signage, and silkscreened twill tote bags. In the digital environment, native iOS applications and desktop web dashboards translate these physical card angles into currency exchange widgets, card issuance selectors, and numeric keypads with liquid real-time telemetry.
