Camp Yerba by Yerba Madre
To launch the very first edition of Camp Yerba, mate brand Yerba Madre turned to design studio Forth+Back (founded by Nikolos Killian and Tanner Woodbury). The idea behind these four days in the Poconos? Capture that feeling of pure euphoria that comes with the start of summer vacation, bringing together 200 “ambacebadores” from across the United States. From individual cabins to the full community, the studio was tasked with visually guiding this human experience—one where strangers arrive on day one and leave as lifelong friends.
Inspired by summer camp nostalgia and the rugged local landscape, Forth+Back created a warm, deeply immersive visual identity. At the center of the design is Blaze Type’s Yowza. With its Art Deco roots and blend of geometric lines and organic details, the typeface brings genuine character to the brand world. Thanks to its rich variety of styles and alternate characters, Yowza adapts seamlessly across the event’s different touchpoints while maintaining a fresh typographic edge.
On-site, the identity unfolds across every dimension: environmental signage, wayfinding, House banners, and custom merch. By leveraging Yowza’s flexibility—performing as effortlessly in large-scale display work as it does in functional signage—Forth+Back crafted a welcoming environment that brings Yerba Madre’s spirit of community and nature connection to life.
