Mill Italian Bistro
The brand identity for Mill Italian Bistro treats operational constraints as creative material.
The logotype appears stretched and rolled like dough – hand-sketched first, then refined digitally. Charcoal illustrations crumble like flour scattered across a kitchen surface, all drawn by Lead Designer Liza Tyutyaeva.
The system adapts to how Mill works. Menus change frequently, so they’re designed to be assembled in Microsoft Word. Social media visuals come from printouts scanned via the Notes app on an iPhone – the resulting artefacts and roughness rhyme with the charcoal textures rather than fighting them.
