Product Design: MaPC your PC games on your Mac
Discover MaPC, a new product design by the team behind Abduzeedo bringing Windows Steam, Epic, and GOG gaming natively to Apple Silicon Mac.
Gaming on Apple Silicon has always felt like an exercise in compromise. For years, running Windows titles meant wrestling with arcane terminal flags, bloated translation wrappers, and clunky configuration bottles that felt completely alienated from macOS. We built MaPC to fix that frustration. Born from the same design principles behind Calmaria and Abduzeedo, the app strips away the technical friction entirely. You simply connect your Steam, Epic Games, or GOG accounts and press play. No Wine setups, no configuration headaches, just your games ready when you are.
Rethinking Native Mac Product Design for Gaming
Every screen in MaPC was crafted as an intentional piece of native product design on macOS. There is no Electron wrapper or sluggish web container here; the interface uses genuine native layouts that respect system typography, keyboard shortcuts, and window hierarchy. Game pages dynamically sample their ambient palette directly from box art, tinting the canvas in deep crimson for Red Dead Redemption 2 or silver for The Witcher 3. Users can switch between an editorial Magazine presentation and structured glass panels, tailoring how their personal library displays.
Underneath the clean surface, MaPC handles graphics pipelines automatically. It routes DirectX 9, 10, and 11 calls through DXVK on Vulkan and Metal, while pairing DirectX 12 games with D3DMetal. Players get granular per-title toggles for MetalFX upscaling, hardware ray tracing, Retina rendering, and live frame-rate HUDs. Built-in cloud save backups push progress to iCloud Drive with a single click. That synthesis of graphics engineering and considered product design makes jumping into favorite titles effortless.
MaPC is currently available as a free public beta for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. Download the installer, check out the roadmap, and join our community directly on mapc.games, or explore our ongoing design work right here on Abduzeedo.
