Mike Sharpe, executive creative director of ManvsMachine, will be sitting down for a Q&A at October’s Nicer Tuesdays to talk about the “multi-dimensional” creative company founded in Shoreditch in 2007. First profiled on It’s Nice That 14 years ago, the company has gone on to create striking campaign visuals for the likes of Channel 4, Oura Ring, Nike and Squarespace, and has been key in shaping and pushing the visual world of motion design during its most exciting, changeable and booming era.
Silvana Trevale, a New York and London-based photographer and director creates portrait-based photography that fuses documentary and fashion photography in an attempt to capture her Latin American roots as well as broader experiences of womanhood and youth, which is captured in her stunning recent book Venezuelan Youth (published by Guest Editions). Produced between 2016 and 2025, Venezuelan Youth captures the complexities of Venezuelan identity as seen through the experiences of its young people.
Illustrator and image-maker Luci Pina, who has not only designed Kokoroko’s newest album art but has also created commissions for New York Times Magazine, Apple Music, Dice FM and It’s Nice That, will be sharing the stage at Nicer Tuesdays to take us through her unique approach to creating wonderful drawn work which stretches into clay and multi-media artworks. Luci’s work is driven by research, Black identities and cultural heritage through playfully drawing together the personal, spiritual and ancestral in gorgeous illustrations that utilise archival and drawing materials.
