Arapyaú Institute annual report 2025

“An exercise in composition in which nothing exists alone. Everything is connection.” That’s how the Arapyaú Institute opens its 2025 annual report, an immersion into the biology of collaboration, illustrated by Lívia Serri Francoio with graphic design by Bloco Gráfico.

The rivers arrive from the coast and travel through the air across the Amazon, irrigating an entire continent.
From the sky we descend into the forest; from the whole we make out the detail; from the trunk of the cacao tree each tiny flower is born.
The pollinating insect enters in search of food and leaves carrying life to another flower.
Beneath the ground, the seed waits. Roots partner with fungi that extend their reach far beyond what they could manage alone.
Every animal that passes near the mother plant carries seeds across the soil.
And it is together that the forest regenerates and advances.

What you see in this report is the identity of a living system, in which every element exists in relation to another. The choice of Seiva rounds out the reading. A typeface with transformation in its essence: it grew from the roots of the Modern style, but defied tradition by adapting to its environment. At large sizes, its exuberance blossoms in unconventional high contrast; as the size decreases, it is carefully pruned in favor of legibility. Nothing left to chance.
