Hidden Valley Drops Black 'Spooky Ranch' in Glow-in-the-Dark Packaging
Despite all the justified hand-wringing over the World Cup this past summer, one delightful byproduct of the whole affair was watching non-American fans embrace what is perhaps our country’s greatest contribution to foodie culture—ranch dressing.
It’s a good thing, then, that the World Cup isn’t played during spooky season, because I’m not sure how a “haunting hue” would go over.

Debuting its first-ever seasonal product, Hidden Valley Ranch has released the limited-edition Spooky Ranch, a black concoction of everyone’s favorite condiment colored with fruit juice and cocoa powder. Don’t worry, folks, it’s the same Hidden Valley flavor y’all crave, but with an added bonus.
Glow-in-the-dark packaging.
The bottle features the usual so-called pristine “Hidden Valley,” but this time it’s lit by the moon, casting a rich purple haze. You’ll also find the usual jack-o’-lantern, a bat, and some drippy, spooktastic lettering. Is it off-putting to see a bottle with what looks like black mold-infested ranch dressing that’s been left on the salad bar buffet for a few years? You betcha.
“Spooky Ranch takes everything fans love about Original Ranch and adds a little Halloween magic. With a haunting hue and glow-in-the-dark packaging, this twist on the flavor you love is the perfect way to bring some frightful fun to your favorite costume parties and fall festivities this Halloween season,” said Stacy Stokes, VP of Marketing for Hidden Valley Ranch, in apress release.
According to the brand, you can only find Spooky Ranch exclusively at Walmart, so get on the Black Ranch train while you still can.
