NEX Playground

NEX Playground is a motion-controlled gaming system designed to get families off the sofa and into the game.

Its custom typeface, designed by Simon Stratford, brings that same sense of movement to the brand. The wonky, all-caps letterforms feel energetic, playful and deliberately unpredictable. Alternative characters and ligatures allow designers to build varied, one-of-a-kind headlines rather than repeating the same shapes.

The typeface was used throughout the NEX Playground retail launch and marketing campaign, giving the product a distinctive voice made for active play. On the website, NEX is supported by Noka and Space Grotesk.
